Promising, But Falls Short
By wishfulexpat
This book had a potentially excellent plot, but it did not reach its full potential. The plot was not well developed and there were several places in the story where more explanation would have been good. For example, I think that further discussion of the quick friendship between Elizabeth and Jasmine was warranted, as was a more complete explanation of the vampire council. Additionally, the writing was choppy and full of spelling and grammatical mistakes. A more thorough proofreading would have eliminated most of these errors.
Despite these flaws, I do think the story had great possibilities. I'm impressed with the creativity she displays at her age and I would love to see her rewrite this story and turn it into the great book it could be.

Mallory Hoffman is still only a teenager - great achievement, eh? If you wish to contact her or ask her about publishing or her book, you can go to [...]
It is a forum which Mallory has joined (honestly, this isn't a fake). She used to be on RealKids forum, where her story was critiqued before it was published, but now she switches back and forth from my forum and RealKids. So, if you wish to talk to her, you can meet her there!
