More of a side note than a continuation
By Christopher Callahan
NGE Angelic Days was in my opinion a fun manga. As an eva fan it made the story much more interesting, so if you're not an eva fan the manga will probably be nothing new. In the last vol. we see where everyone has ended up. Ritsuko and Rei meet eachother and discuss their failed love attempts, Hikari worries that Toji will be killed by an angel, Misato re connects with kaji, and Shinji and Asuka attempt to patch their fragile relationship. All in all I enjoyed it. It was nice and lightehearted and made me feel happy for the characters that I know and love. My only complaint is that it really didn't tie up anything. Where's Shinji and Asuka getting married and having a kid? That was what I was waiting for but again, I'm an eva head. If you like some romance then try it, if you like eva then give it a chance, overall it's something you'll end up feeling glad about reading.

Alternate-universe take on the popular Japanese animated show
By Midwest Book Review
Intended for readers age thirteen to adult, the sixth and final volume of Neon Genesis Evangelion Angelic Days concludes Fumino Hayashi's alternate-universe take on the popular Japanese animated show and its characters with an array of short stories set at varying times in the characters' lives. Though the world of Angelic Days is less bleak than that of the anime, and its protagonists are less dysfunctional than their psychologically traumatized anime versions, they still have their own personal demons to confront. On-again off-again couple Misato and Kaji have to ask themselves just how they came to drift apart; Ritsuko Akagi grapples with her love for a man who can never love her in return; Hikari and Toji try to make a long-distance relationship work; and Shinji and Asuka face an uncertain future. Angelic Days eschews dramatic mecha battles or mystical confrontations for the complexities of relationships and everyday growing up, yet is all the more fitting a finale for it. Also highly recommended are Neon Genesis Evangelion Angelic Days volumes 1-5.

Kind of Disappointing
By GrandMasterGris
Since the Angel battles now happen in the background, we are given even less of a reason for their assault than in the series. The characters are still engaging, but many important items on the "Need to Address" list are botched. Kensuke disappears. They never go back to the time capsule burial grounds. The pilots can no longer pilot, but are still split up. Asuka and Shinji just get into another big argument with little payoff. And the artwork is still pretty bad (but at least the mangaka acknowledges this). It is a good read for any Evangelion fan, but you are likely to be more than a bit disappointed when you have completed this series. Which, by no means, translates into "You ought to skip this." It is a decent character study and somewhat interesting, and Kaworu fans (I was not one before) and Asuka fans will be amply satisfied.
