About the Author
Pietros Maneos is a graduate of the University of Miami where he studied English Literature, Art History, and Classics. His first collection of poems, The Soul of a Young Man, was published in Rome, Italy and won him international praise for its passion and lyricism.

Vivid, poignant, munificent . . . Maneos

Pietros Maneos delivers an exciting, emotional, deeply felt collection: POEMS of BLOOD and PASSION. Unrestrained, but not unaware, Mr. Maneos plunges his pen straight through our hearts, lavishly lamenting his lost love, Natalia. Unwilling to entertain even the notion of complacency, Maneos extracts and creates, weaving and interweaving witty ironies and contradictions. What impresses most: Pietros Maneos is on a consistent level, at all times. Intense, intense, intense. No chance for rest; the reader is assaulted, challenged, propelled and fulfilled. A raging read, from beginning to end. Masterfully done.

So as to put it righteously to my knowledge ! ''Pietros's Beautiful Mind and Graceful Soul are his perfect Pen''
Well, then again he wrote this poems with absolute integrity, sheer honesty and most of all heights of Beautiful large hearted Maneos's expression of thoughts! Was been articulated in a very sense of his writing ability to illustrate or demonstrate in a very passionate ways about his illicit love affair with the dashing beauty from Brazil.
And of course as a avid traveler of many great Historical cities, fond lover of Hellenism, natural landscape, Maneos can't just stop transforming this entire prose in a very Symphonic manner.
It's almost felt like a story of, Paris of Troy and Helen of Sparta. They are just not meant to be together:
here is the Greek Mythology comes to my mind :
Trojan war, Paris of Try is chosen by Zeus to decide who is the greatest beauty Hera, Athena or Aphrodite. He chooses Aphrodite because she promised him the most beautiful mortal woman in the world as, a wife, Helen. The other goddesses were enraged by this and because of Helen's abduction by Paris they brought about the Trojan war.
In Maneos's own words:
''she loves me more than even Dido loved Aeneas,
More than Narcissus loved himself,
And more than Helen loved Paris.
But she has returned to her loveless Menelaus-
To his cold chest.
Yet how my spurned breast burns for her!''
His ability to prose in a very sensitive yet melancholic way with the Romantic Aesthetic in mind and very beautiful soul : here is the glimpse of his work where he brings in the historic and heroic, way of expressing his love, passion, war and rage .
''Our love is as historic as the epic battle of Actium.
Yet, this time our souls will vanquish famed Augustus,
This time we will be as victorious as the glorious dawn, Who every morning storms the night with it's invincible light.
This time Agrippa will be stripped of glory as we triumphantly dine on Samian wine.
All of the world will say: Today, love alone has humbled proud Rome! ''
And in his phrases, he literally explodes his love, desire, heights of his passion for his lover in a very symphonic fashion in some paragraphs.
Here I may give you few of the preview of his work:
''You are the north star of my soul.
For you radiate like eight suns lit with liquid amber,
You shine in every single one of my lines,
And you dine from the core of my cornered heart.''
''Her eyes -two sunbursts bursting with myrrh.
Her breasts-two mountains separated by a glorious glen.
Her legs-two stalks of liquid lava, burning me with every touch.''
Often compares her to nature of Glorious goddess or at times nature of strength, his beautiful language of Romanticism takes his writing to the another heights, as if she was the Goddess Venus or Aphrodite -the goddess of lust, love, passion, beauty and music.
Or at times Peitho:The goddess of personification of persuasion and seduction.
Or he is the Kamadeva:God of love and she is the Rati: Goddess of love and lust.
And most of all how the romantic poetry expresses his love, lust is drifting and twisting between nature and mythological gods and goddesses.
He was the divine God and she was the Glorious goddess, where their love should be worshipped and worth building a divine temple !!
The entire poetry is set in to 2 parts, Life then the Death.....
It sort of highlights when in love, and then when he realized she is getting attracted to another man and eventually it's over but he is still has so much love to give, he goes through the phases of anger, denial and acceptance .
So here he goes:(this is very beautifully written as above)
''Her love is as crazy as gypsy raving in piazza,
Yey my love is as rationale as a medieval professor,
As logical as a theorem based on starbursts,
And as thoughtful as a school of ancient sages.
Her love is as divided as two opposing armies.
Yet my love is as one empire of light.
Her love is as mild as a contented child.
Yet my love is as a flaring pyre,
As wil as a Grecian lyre,
And as wils as thunderstorms of storming fire.''
As I am great lover and addicted to Pietros Maneos's work of art , first when I read his Novella ''The Italian Pleasures of Gabriele Paterkallos'' that's it. This is just what I want to read....But how many in our generation or in 21st century can write like Maneos???!!!Big question!!? So as we are still able to celebrate his poetry and novella, so shall enjoy it and hope Mr.Pietros Maneos has more in store for us soon.
I have paramount of respect for Pietros for his Graceful way of writing , which is like classical symphony to my senses.
Person like Pietros Maneos only deserve to live a life of a Glorious Greek God or to die of Heroic death of Grecian Heroes like Leonidas the Brave, till the every blood of his body drains or meanders like very glens of the Brammabella.(Long live my friend like those immortal Spirits)Hope your Cyprus dream will never come true.
I was watching the documentary on Lord Byron yesterday, where he leaves for Greece to fight the Turks, where he believed not by writing but by doing things!
But to me Lord Pietros Maneos!! if I may so choose to call him! he is not only writes but also practices what he writes!!!So that might make him very special writer and a Hellenist.
