A great book about 2 brothers with hemophilia and AIDS

I have been interested in the whole crisis with AIDS in the blood supply since reading about Ryan White's case in the 1980s. I have read many books about hemophiliacs with AIDS, and all are poignant and interesting. The story of Maxine Segal's sons Scott and Doug is a great addition. The Segal brothers were adults when they died, with kids and wives, and their mother has written an excellent book about their early struggles with hemophilia and later battles with AIDS and prejudice. The only thing I didn't like was that the book isn't written chronologically. Segal jumps from the 1950s to the 1980s back to the 1960s, and so on. For several pages, the boys are toddlers, and then they are adults with AIDS, and then 20 pages later, they are adults, but they don't have AIDS yet... it is very disjointed, and unless one is a family member, its pretty hard to follow. I am sure Segal has her reasons for writing it that way, but in my opinion, it would've been easier to follow if she'd written chronologically. She also side steps into other story lines, such as the founding of the National Hemophilia Foundation and her 1975 stay in a psychiatric hospital which are relevant but add to the disjointed nature of the story due to the way she has done the chronology. In summary, an interesting true story, but hard to follow due to the chronological set up.
