I'm thankful this book is out there!

What Every Christian Should Know About Jewish People
by Sheryl Young
If you're like me. You don't know a lot of people who are Jewish. And those of your friends that are, you probably avoid the topic of faith with them. You know that they are God's chosen people, that Jesus himself was a Jew, and that their people never accepted Jesus as the Messiah. But beyond that, you don't know how to explain to a Jewish person how they've misunderstood the Gospel. I am the author of a book called The Little Pot The Little Pot and since Little Pot's story only speaks of the potter and the clay - which is an Old testament parable of our relationship with God, many Jewish schools and people love my book. Not until they meet me and engage in conversation do they realize that I view the potter to be Christ as well as God the Father. That's why I was excited when I found Sheryl's book,
"What Every Christian Should Know About Jewish People".
In this book Sheryl answers questions like:
Why is it imperative for every Christian to gain a fresh, love-filled perspective toward the Jewish people today?
What makes a person consider him or herself Jewish?
Do Jewish people really need to be "converted"?
When Sheryl's husband gave his life to Jesus, she thought, "How can I, a girl from a Jewish family, be married to a Christian?" She set out to prove the Gospel wrong. But the moment she really studied the Old Testament and dared to compare it with the New, everything changed. She fell in love with "Yeshua," saw her Jewish heritage with new appreciative eyes, and realized the two could fit perfectly together.
Sheryl has been a "Jewish believer in Jesus" since 1987. She wrote this book for Christians to answer the many questions Christians have asked her over the years about Judaism, the Jewish peoples' culture, faith, and why Jewish people are hesitant to accept the Gospel message of Christ as their true Messiah.
I am so thankful this book is out there. It isn't enough for Jewish people to know about the potter of the old testament and not accept Christ as their Messiah. They can never become Fruit Pots like Little Pot and bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit otherwise.

A Must Read
By Marlayne J. Giron
This book is a "must read" for any serious Christian who wants to know the true origin of their faith and who desire to be well grounded in why they believe what they believe.
As a fellow Messianic Jew I have been quite amazed at the level of total ignorance by most "gentile" Christians as to the Jewishness of belief in Jesus Christ and how He is the fulfillment of all the Messianic prophecies. I expect this ignorance from my fellow non believing Jews for most of them are ignorant of what the Torah and Old Testament reaches but there is no excuse for those claiming to be Christian. I have observed that nowadays, most everyday Christians know very little or don't believe at all the essentials of their own faith (such as the virgin birth, the trinity, the physical resurrection, salvation through faith alone, etc.); let alone Bible prophecy which comprises almost 2/3's of the Bible text and has always pointed exclusively to Yeshua (Jesus) as Messiah.
With warmth, humor and an easy way with words, Sheryl describes in very easy to understand terms the Jewishness of the Christian faith (or "The Way" as it was originally termed), the significance of the Jewish feast days ordained by God and how they were (and still shall be) fulfilled by Jesus and what they mean.
She has done a very thorough job in researching and showcasing all the history, culture and religious aspects which make up today's Jewish people and her book would serve as an excellent "primer" for both mature and young believers alike. With all the increased rise of anti-antisemitism in the world, this book should be required reading in all the churches! The Victor

What Do You Know About God's Original Chosen Nation?
By Kim Justice
I have always had an interest in Jewish people. For one they were God's Chosen People. For another, their customs are so very interesting.
So when I saw this book I just had to pick it up and read. Author Sheryl Young is a great writer and this is the second book that I have read of hers. The first book was: God am I a Nobody? I so enjoyed that book.
As for this book, I enjoyed learning more about the Jewish People. There were some times thru the 296 pages that I felt all the details some times were a bit much. I know that it is suppose to be a sort of study about what the Christians need to know but I was lost in some of the parts.
But on a good note I was, and so will you when you pick up a copy, to learn some new things that I did not know before reading, What Every Christian Should Know About The Jewish People.
So for the above reasons: I am giving this book the Breath of Life Rating of:
Four Clock Rating:
Disclosure: I did not receive the above book in exchange for my honest opinion and or review. But the Opinions are my own and yours may differ.
